The goal
Be one of the first 5 people to drive the most direct, paying referrals to Ad Threads before we hit our first 1000 currently active paying members.
How it works
- The milestone: the competition ends the moment Ad Threads reaches 1000 currently active paying members — a live count. If the count reaches 999 and then someone cancels, it drops back to 998; the competition only ends the instant it actually reaches 1000.
- Trial members don't count toward the milestone until they've made a real payment. A discounted payment still counts as real as long as something was actually paid — e.g. 10% off the yearly plan still counts, since real money changed hands. Only a fully free first month (100% off, £0 paid) doesn't count, until that person's second (first real) payment goes through.
- No time limit, but a guarantee: if the milestone isn't reached within 12 months of launch, we'll review the situation. We may end the competition then and pay out prizes pro rata (based on progress toward 1000 at that point), or extend the competition for a further 12 months — after which we'll do the same review again.
How you're ranked
- You're ranked by your number of direct (level 1) referrals who have made their first real payment — not your full 5-level downline, and not free members.
- Once a referral counts (their first real payment has gone through), they count permanently — even if they later cancel, they still count toward your total.
- To be eligible to win a prize, you must be a currently active paying member yourself at the moment the competition ends.
- Your referral count is never reset. If you cancel your own subscription and come back later, your full historical count is exactly where you left it — you don't start over. Eligibility to win is only checked once, at the exact moment the competition ends, so it only matters whether you're paid then — a gap in the middle doesn't cost you anything except the (small) chance the competition happens to end during that gap.
Prizes
Paid on top of your normal affiliate commissions — this is a separate reward.
- 1st place — £5,000
- 2nd place — £4,000
- 3rd place — £3,000
- 4th place — £2,000
- 5th place — £1,000
Ties: if two or more people are tied for a position, we'll draw at random to decide who takes the higher spot — e.g. if two people are tied for 2nd, one is randomly assigned 2nd place (£4,000) and the other 3rd place (£3,000).
Fair play
This competition exists to create a sense of fun and buzz in the community. It is not permission to make misleading or otherwise unacceptable claims to sign someone up. Referring people the normal, honest way is what counts — not overselling, false promises, or misrepresenting Ad Threads to get a signup.
Other terms
- Rankings are based on Ad Threads' own records at the moment the competition ends; our determination is final.
- Prize winners are responsible for any tax obligations on their winnings.
- Ad Threads reserves the right to disqualify entries found to be fraudulent (e.g. fake/duplicate accounts) or in breach of the fair play rule above.
- Employees/contractors of Ad Threads (if any) are not eligible to win.
