Yes — you need to be an active Ad Threads Paid subscriber at the time a commission would accrue. That said, anyone can share their referral link and start building a downline right away, free or paid; you just need to be Paid yourself when it comes time to earn from it.
Level 1 is people you refer directly. Level 2 is people they refer. Level 3 is people those people refer, and so on down to level 5. You earn on every level, every renewal, for as long as both you and they stay paid subscribers.

Commissions accrue automatically on every renewal in your downline and become withdrawable 30 days after they accrue. Once eligible, request a payout from your affiliate dashboard and we'll send it manually in Litecoin (LTC) to the address you provide.
No. Commissions are compensation for referring genuine, paying customers of a real product — the Ad Threads feed itself. There's no cost or requirement to recruit anyone, no purchase of "positions" or inventory, and no obligation to keep referring. Most users will earn little or nothing, and that's fine — it's a bonus on top of a product people actually use, not the point of joining.
You stop earning new commissions the moment you're no longer an active paid subscriber, but anything you already earned and that's already eligible (or becomes eligible from renewals that happened while you were paid) is still yours to withdraw.
